Vicky McClure, born Nottingham, May 1983, is an actress best known for her work in the films of Shane Meadows. She starred as Ladine, Romeo’s sister, in A Room for Romeo Brass and in Meadows’ most successful film, This Is England. Similarly she went on to continue playing Lol in Meadows’ critically acclaimed TV series’ This Is England ’86, ;88 and ’90.
She has recently co-starred in the London-based comedy film Filth and Wisdom, the first feature film directed by pop singer Madonna. Line of duty’s Vicky McClure will tell a short film about missing children, and fans continue to speculate about the new police drama series.
Vicky, winner of the BAFTA award, will play Di Kate Fleming in the award-winning police drama together with Scottish born Martin Compston, who will tell the story of four different women’s grief after losing a child in grief.
The film will also interview these women, who share their inner thoughts, talk about the process of grief, and some recent positive results.
Sirloin films and Nottingham stillbirth and child bereavement charity forever stars produced the film, and writer director rob sharp wrote on social media that Vicky was involved in the film and said that “the secret has now been revealed.”
